As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll serve as the technical quarterback for strategic accounts, translating business challenges into AI-native infrastructure solutions. You’ll work closely with our Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as directly with enterprise clients to drive adoption, architect solutions, and ensure post-sale success. This is a role based in the San Francisco area. Think of it as part Pre-Sales Architect, part Field CTO, part Trusted Advisor. You will also play a strategic role in building the San Francisco territory alongside Sales and have the opportunity to help define our GTM playbook in a greenfield region.

What You’ll Do

Sales & Solution Delivery
- Partner with Sales on discovery, technical validation, and POV/POCs
- Own deployment architecture decisions—Snowflake Native App, Databricks Native, or Kubernetes on AWS/Azure
- Demonstrate data transformation (dbt, field mapping, lineage) and orchestration (Airflow) capabilities
- Support deal qualification using MEDDICC/MEDDPICC
Customer Engagement
- Serve as technical point of contact throughout the sales lifecycle
- Lead technical workshops and demos showcasing AI agents, data connectors, and enterprise integrations
- Create champion enablement materials—ROI calculators, executive briefings, business case documentation
- Support security and compliance reviews
Product & Market
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering on roadmap based on customer feedback
Stay ahead of market trends to shape technical messaging and competitive positioning

Who You Are

Experience
- 5+ years as a Solutions Engineer/Architect, Sales Engineer, Field CTO, or Developer Advocate at a cloud, AI, or data company
- Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field

Technical Skills

Data Engineering:

Hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks
Experience with data engineering tools: dbt, Spark, Snowpark, Airflow, or legacy ETL
Understanding of pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, scheduling)
You've explored connecting AI with data and are excited about the possibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud:

Familiarity with cloud deployments: AWS, Azure, Snowflake Native Apps, or Databricks Apps
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud networking (VPCs, load balancers)

Security:

Understanding of RBAC, SSO, and compliance frameworks for regulated industries

Business & Communication

Experience building TCO models and ROI analyses for executive audiences
Comfort presenting to CFOs and procurement teams
Ability to speak fluently with both engineers and executives
Curious, coachable, customer-obsessed, self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

GenAI & LLMs:

Familiarity with GenAI architectures, RAG pipelines, vector databases, LLM orchestration
Experience with OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Snowflake Cortex, or Databricks Foundation Models
Background building AI agents or agentic workflows
Experience with AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q)

‍Data Engineering Depth:

Hands-on with field mapping, data lineage, or MDM projects
Experience migrating from legacy ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS) to modern stack
Familiarity with semantic layer tools (Cortex Analyst, Databricks Genie, Cube, dbt Semantic Layer)

Enterprise & Partnerships:

Experience with financial services or regulated industries (SOC2, HIPAA, FedRAMP)
Background with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools

Experience partnering with Snowflake/Databricks field teams

Familiarity with GenAI architectures, RAG pipelines, vector databases, LLM orchestration
Experience with OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Snowflake Cortex, or Databricks Foundation Models
Background building AI agents or agentic workflows
